Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne

Interests: Scout Leader 1st Fressingfield Scout Troop, first aid trainer and keen environmentalist

Marital status/children: Married to Donna, have two boys, Kielen aged 17 and Marc aged 12.

Occupation: Senior Teacher in the Primary state sector

Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne was born and grew up in Norwich, he attended City College Norwich and gained a Batchelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental Biology. He later attended the University of East Anglia and obtained qualified teacher status. He now works as a senior teacher in a large state primary school

Professionally Andrew is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management Association for Science Education and the Associationof Teachers and Lecturers.

He also served in the Territorial Army and Reserve Association as a commissioned officer for ten years, supporting youth development and the Army Cadet Force. Andrew is married to Donna, who was born in Ipswich and has family living in the North Ipswich are. His two boys Kielen and Marc complete the family. The family has lived in Fressingfield in the north of the Constituency for seven years. He renovated a historic and prominant building in the heart of the village. Andrew is a regular attender at St Peter and St Pauls Parish Church in Fressingfield and is involved in a number of community activities, not least as Scout Leader for the village and surrounding area.

Andrew has been involved in politics for all of his adult life and up until recently served as a Councillor for 12 years. He also fought the last three General Elections in his former home city of Norwich where he came within a whisker of winning Norwich South from the Labour heavyweight Charles Clarke. He has now switched his attention to his home area of Central Suffolk and North Ipswich and is looking forward to fighting the next General election as an active community campaigner.
