Hoxne by-election candidate Evelyn Adey
A local resident, Evelyn Adey, has been chosen by the Hoxne Liberal Democrats as their candidate for the by-election on 28th July. Evelyn, a retired medical doctor has lived in Athelington for the past eighteen months where she is converting a barn with her son and his family. She has previously lived in both Dennington and Tannington and knows Suffolk well.
Having spent some of her early years overseas, Evelyn was educated in Dorset and trained to become a medical doctor at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. She worked first as a general practitioner and then as a community paediatrician, the latter involved her in work in clinics, nurseries and schools and helped to develop her interest in childcare and education. She has also worked in a child psychiatry unit and for community based mental health schemes. Now living in Suffolk again and an active member of the Hoxne Liberal Democrats Evelyn is keen to become more involved with the local community as an elected representative. Her main areas of interest and experience are health and social issues; childcare and education and the environment.
Evelyn has three children and five grandchildren. She enjoys reading, music, cooking and gardening. She is currently creating and designing her own garden.
